Passport University is the independent study-abroad directory and resource project run by Bry Joy. This notice covers our website and the information you share with our team. For privacy questions or requests, contact passportuniversityteam@gmail.com.

• Newsletter: when you subscribe, Beehiiv processes your email address, any other details you enter in the signup form, your subscription preferences, and subscription activity on our behalf.
• Corrections: our Google Form collects the school details, correction and supporting information you submit, plus any contact information you choose to provide.
• Email: if you contact us, we receive your email address, message and attachments.

Please avoid sending passports, identity documents, financial information or other sensitive personal information. You do not need to subscribe or submit a correction to browse the directory.

We use newsletter details to send the scholarship opportunities, school news and study-abroad resources you requested. We use messages and correction requests to respond, investigate reported issues and improve the directory. Sending a correction or contacting us does not sign you up for marketing emails.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on consent for newsletter marketing; our legitimate interests in answering inquiries, reviewing corrections and operating a secure, useful website; and legal obligations where applicable. You can withdraw newsletter consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.

Directory filters help you explore schools. They do not make admissions decisions or determine your eligibility.

Our hosting and database services support page delivery and directory data. Service providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, device and browser information, request times and security or error logs.

The website loads Instagram content and a Beehiiv newsletter signup embed. Direct signup links also take you to our Beehiiv page. The separate Beehiiv attribution script is currently disabled. Embedded services receive technical information when their content loads and may use cookies or similar technologies. When you use Beehiiv directly, its referral and newsletter measurement features can include signup sources, email opens and link clicks. We also use first-party anonymous activity counters for page views, school opens, selected filters and resource-link clicks. These counters store only a date, page path, event category, a school or category label, and a count. They do not store visitor identifiers, IP addresses, email addresses, search text or URL query strings, and do not use analytics cookies. They measure activity rather than unique visitors or completed newsletter signups. Aggregate totals are kept for trend analysis. Our counter script respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Hosting and embedded providers may still process information separately as described here.

Our correction form is hosted by Google. Social links take you to the relevant platform. Their handling of information is governed by their own policies as well as any processing they perform for us: Beehiiv privacy policy, Google privacy policy, and Meta privacy policy.

You can use your browser’s privacy and content-blocking controls. Blocking third-party content may prevent an embed from appearing; it does not prevent you from exploring the directory.

Information is handled by the services needed to run the site, deliver newsletters, receive corrections and manage email. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect the service. We do not sell the personal information you submit to our team.

Providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Their locations and transfer arrangements depend on the service. Contact us if you need more information about the handling of a particular submission.

Newsletter details are kept while needed to manage your subscription. After you unsubscribe, limited suppression records may remain to prevent unwanted messages. Messages and correction submissions are kept while needed to respond, investigate, document changes or meet legal obligations; unnecessary personal details should not be retained indefinitely. Provider logs and backups follow the relevant service’s retention arrangements.

Use the unsubscribe link in our newsletter or email passportuniversityteam@gmail.com to stop marketing messages. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, object to certain processing, or complain to your local data-protection authority. We may need enough information to verify and fulfil your request.

Beehiiv’s services are intended for adults aged 18 or older. Please do not use the Beehiiv signup if you are under 18. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and address it.
